15 BOKO-HARAM SUSPECTS ARRESTED IN LAGOS .



About 15 suspected members of the Boko Haram sect have been arrested in Lagos by security agents. They were arrested at various parts of the metropolis, with most of them arrested at Ijora Badia and Kotankowa areas, it was gathered.

The 15 suspects were among the 1661 people that were arrested by Ops MESA between February and May in the state, Daily Trust learnt.
The General Officer Commanding (GOC) 81 Divi-sion of the Nigerian Army, Major General Umahi, while reviewing the activities of the army in Lagos and Ogun State, stated that the Joint Military Task Force, Ops MESA, arrested 1361 miscreants within the Lagos area, while its counterpart attached to the Quick Response Squad, arrested 115 criminals along the Lagos-Ibadan expressway.
“Those arrested by the Quick Response Squad include 71 males and 53 females. These criminals are among those terrorising innocent citizens plying the route,” he added.
He said all the suspects have since been handed over to the police for further investigation and prosecution.
General Umahi maintained that the Quick Response Squad was created by the Chief of Army Staff to assist the police in patrolling flash points along federal highways.

that D'banj was paid 5 times what other Naija artistes get...
I hear a cheque of N250m was issued to him by Etisalat, a company that really wants to re-establish itself as a leader in the industry, after losing its brand face, Saka, to MTN under controversial circumstances.

The deal was struck recently and D'banj has already shot some commercials for Etisalat being prepared for release. D'banj continues to maintain his leadership role in the industry and his latest show, the DKM concert which took place in Lagos on Sunday was a huge success.

UNDERGRADUTE JAILED OVER YAHOO-YAHOO .



A High Court sitting in Ibadan, Oyo State, has on Tuesday, June 25, 2013, convicted and sentenced Akinluyi Akintunde, a 24- year- old Agronomy undergraduate student of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomoso to three years imprisonment without an option of fine.

Akintunde was arraigned before Justice Akintunde Abbas on March 13, 2013 on a two count charge of obtaining money under false pretence. He allegedly obtained the sum of $450.00 from one Robert Jackson (an American) via Western Union Money Transfer under a false pretence that he was a lady.

Justice Abass, in his judgement, ordered that the sum of $450 recovered from the convict be returned to the victim, Robert Jackson through the United States Consulate as restitution.

Also, he also ordered that the laptop recovered from the convict in the course of his arrest be forfeited to the Federal Government.
