Acting Gov Umaru Fintiri emerges PDP
candidate, polling 624 votes.
His closest rival former Executive Secretary of
Universal Basic Education Dr. Ahmed Modibbo
scored 197 votes.
Former military administrator of Lagos and
Borno states, Gen. Buba Marwa, who was the
second runner up in the contest, scored a
distant 54 votes, Dr. Umar Ardo scored 9 votes
and Jerry Kumdisi scored 4 votes while 25 votes
were invalidated.
The primaries which started on Saturday
afternoon lasted throughout the night and was
concluded around 4:00am on Sunday.
