Adeyemi College of Education (ACE), Ondo, has received the donation of an e-library server worth US$240,000 from the Southern University, International Centre for Information Technology and Development (ICITD), Baton Rouge, Louisiana, United States (US).
Provost of the college, Prof. Olukoya Ogen, said the e-library was presented to the institution by the Executive Director of ICTID and the President Board of Trustees, ICT University and ICT-U Foundations, Houston, Prof. Victor Mbarika.

Ogen, while speaking with The Guardian in Akure, however, noted that a system analyst, Mr. Michael Wilson, flew into the country from Finland late last year to install the e-library server.
It will be recalled that Ogen signed another Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with ICITD last two months, which will lead to the donation of an e-learning centre to ACE, the establishment of staff and student exchange initiatives and joint collaborative research endeavours.
He added that the system analyst trained the staff of the college’s management information systems on the effective deployment of the e-library.
“The e-library is now ready for use by the college community and can be accessed on the url: 100.0.0.18/lib/, using the college wifi. The e-library, which is still being uploaded, currently has over five hundred books and articles on the humanities, social sciences, sciences and education that can assist students, lecturers and researchers in the pursuit of academic excellence.
“An ultra-modern e-learning centre is also to be donated to the college by the ICT-U Foundations in February 2018 as part of the MoU,” he said
